What exactly is a lesson?

A lesson is a planned series of tasks created to offer one easily understood section of your course. Lesson and lecture should not be confused because the word lecture is frequently used to refer to course hours. A 1-hour presentation may contain more than one lesson. One of the teaching methods you might employ in a lesson is a lecture.
Every lesson need to be a stand-alone, comprehensive unit that imparts fresh knowledge. In lesson planning, your ensure that you keep your students in mind.

  • Who are they?
  • What are they already knowledgeable of?
  • Why should they be informed of this?
  • What must they discover?
  • What must they do next to understand?
  • How would they show what they’ve learned?

At various points during a session, the teacher and students engage in different activities. The three stages of a lesson plan—beginning, middle, and end. The three stages of learning:

  1. Motivation (beginning): There must be a need or a desire to master a particular skill. This is the initial stage of learning. Every day, there are millions of stimuli that we can experience through sight, sound, taste, smell, or touch. If the information you obtain is not required or utilized, it is immediately sent back out again or is removed.
  2. The majority of learning takes place during the guidance stage (middle). The short-term memory will briefly retain information that is taken in and moved there. You make decisions about what to do with new information as it comes in. You have two options: either use it right away and then forget about it, or try to retain it for a future purpose. It’s similar to putting data in a computer to connect it to something you already know. To help us remember where we put comparable material, we first establish directories, and then files, where we save it. Once we are inspired to learn anything, we must be able to recall it later on when we require it.
  3. Practice (end) – The third stage of learning is practice, which involves putting what you have learnt, largely on your own.
    The transition from one stage to the next should be seamless as each one builds on the one before it. Learning might not take place if pupils don’t given the chance to experience all three phases!
